According to legend, Som means God Chandra built gold,
Ravana silver and Sri Krishna built a wooden temple. He was married to 24 moon
constellations, but he was beloved of two queens, and other queens grieved and
went to his father. Daksha Raja cursed the moon to weaken its power. Then he
worshipped Shivaji's Mahamrutnayya Mantra in this field. After that, Shivaji's
grace is illuminated for 15 days and 15 days of the dark moon. Therefore, Lord
Shiva established his Jyothi here and it became known as Somnath.
Somnath's first temple was said to have existed 2000 years
ago. In 649 AD, King Maitre of Vallabhini renovated the temple and replaced it
with another temple. In 725, the Arab ruler of Sindh took his army and attacked
the temple and destroyed the temple. Pratishtha King Nagabhatt II constructed
the temple for the third time in 815 using a red stone (sandstone). In 1026,
Mohammed
Ghazni

Somnath temple
. After
the robbery, the pilgrims slaughtered the temple and burned the temple and
demolished it. After taking revenge, the king of Patan

Siddharaj Jai Singh
, who was the founder of Gujarat,
Nilkhar was born in the 16th century. Somnath was once again destroyed when in 1297 when Delhi Sultan Allauddin Khilji's General Malcolm Cafe took possession of
Gujarat. In 1394 it was destroyed again. In 1706, the Mughal ruler Aurangzeb
again demolished the temple.
Again, this temple was built by the three centuries of Vana
Vahan, when the Iron Man of India and the first Deputy Prime Minister
Sardar
Vallabhbhai Patel
travelled to Junagadh following Independence. When went to
Somnath with him, and Jyotindhara Kanhaiyalal Munshi, Gujarat's Chief Minister,
Kakasagheb Gadgil, Jamsaheb, came to the centre of Banghamak, and he went to
the sea and took a donation of water and announced the plan for the
rehabilitation of the temple, Jam Sahib gave a donation of Rupees one lakh. On
November 13, 1947, they pledged to rebuild the temple. And in the fifth,
removing the fossils of the temple, today's Somnath temple was built for its
sixth time on its original site. Somnath - "Kailash Mahameru Prasad
Mandir" exhibits a spectacular art of Sompura artisans of Gujarat. The
height of this temple is 175 feet. The crest and the flag on the peak feel the
severity. This type of construction has not happened in the last 800 years. In
1951 Dr Prasad Pratibha has been honoured by Dr Rajendra Prasad. So that the
tradition of Shankar's worship for 2000 years has been in this area. A statue
of a standing idol has been placed in the vicinity of the height peak.
According to the inscription written in Sanskrit on the
coast, only the sea is situated between the temple and the southern part of the
earth, and there is no land. Bhalakatirth is situated right here, from where
Lord Krishna went to his Nijdamham. Here he was beaten by a hunter and pierced
the Padma in his foot. From this place Lord Balakrishna, the elder brother of
Lord Krishna, went from here to the abyss. Here Poonam is at the top of the
temple, and every day publishes him on sunrise every day. Therefore, Harihar's
meeting in this field is wonderful.
